Years of neglect and improper repairs with unsuitable materials caused significant deterioration of the chimney. To restore it, the chimney was dismantled down to the roofline and rebuilt to its original design with new matching brick and lime-based mortar. A new concrete cap with overhang was installed at the top of the chimney.
