John Machnicki, the owner of Brick & Stone Restoration, brings a rich European background to his work, enhancing the craft of masonry and historic property restoration. With over forty years of experience, John is known for his dedication to preserving architectural heritage.

John’s expertise is not just in practice but also in education, having served as a working advisor and senior instructor for the US Heritage Group, Inc., where he trained masons, architects, preservation officers, and homeowners in traditional masonry skills. John’s contributions to the field have been recognized in publications like Angie's List, This Old House magazine, and Clarion Journal. His work embodies a deep commitment to preserving history through meticulous restoration, ensuring that historic homes and structures are maintained for future generations to enjoy.

It is John’s greatest pleasure to work together with homeowners who want to reclaim the original appearance of their home so it may last for decades to come. John’s passion is not just the repair, maintenance, and preservation of these properties, but also the education of his clients. He is excited to collaborate with homeowners who are enthusiastic about architecture, history, and tradition.

John’s eye for beauty extends to other areas of his life as well.  Painting and carving are some of the outlets through which John expresses his creativity.

He also loves to travel with his family to see new places and immerse himself in old world cultures. His travels allow him to explore unique architecture and practice his photography skills. Although, as a devoted husband and father of two daughters, perhaps his favorite subject to photograph is his family.
